The selection process reflects the set standards by the UWC International Board and starts with a formal advert in National dailies. Selection is on the basis of merit and candidates must be between the ages of 15 and 17 years old. Those aged 18 and 19 years are considered for Simon Bolivar UWC Venezuela, which is an Agricultural Institution.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate academic ability and must have obtained the Senior School Certificate SS/ GCE O’ Levels in five credits - English Language, Mathematics, One Science subject, One art subject and any other and or their recognized equivalent. For the Music Scholarship, eligible applicants must be pianists or strong players of Violin, Viola and Cello with strong background in classical music and performance. They should also have clear ambition to pursue their musical interest at university level.
The rigorous Selection Exercise will include written and oral interviews, Solo Initiative and Endurance test. It tends to seek for eligible candidates with open minds and personal qualities, which will enable them to live and study in an intensive multicultural environment.
HOW TO APPLY
The sale of forms to interested applicants lasts from January – February each year. Application forms can be obtained on the payment of a prescribed fee in bank draft drawn in any of the Nigerian banks and in favor of the Nigerian National Committee for the United World Colleges.

Downloaded forms must be submitted at any of the above centres with the prescribed application fee and receipt obtained.
